Our Zig Zag Down Vest is a fresh, modern take on the iconic puffer vests of yesteryear worn by alpine adventurists. Rugged and ready for anything you are, it’s purpose-built to keep your core toasty and your arms free when temperatures take a dive. The Zig Zag is exceptionally warm, thanks to its lofty, Responsible Down Standard (RDS )-certified premium down—which traps body heat like a dream—and dropped back hem that’s there to keep your lower back covered. For long-lasting durability, we used water- and abrasion-resistant Cordura® blend material for the overlays. As with all of our Performance Heritage gear, versatility is key: The Zig Zag is a solidly constructed everyday vest that will perform just as well in the backcountry as it will in town on chilly morning walks.

- Cordura® Blend Overlays
- Durable, water-shedding Cordura® blend overlays (84% Cordura® nylon / 16% spandex) strategically placed in high-contact areas such as elbows, forearms and knees offer lightweight abrasion and water resistance, protecting the garment against wear and tear and enhancing its longevity.
- Sherpa Fleece
- Sherpa Fleece is a soft and warm mid-pile fleece fabric made from 100% recycled polyester. Typically worn as a second or mid-layer to insulate the wearer, it can also be comfortably worn directly against the skin, making it a suitable and versatile material for year-round activities.
- 700 Fill Power Down Insulation
- The higher the “down fill power” number, the higher the quality of down. A fill power of 700 and above is generally considered high-quality down, which means it’s fluffier, holds more heat-trapping air space and is warmer for its weight. Danner uses only Responsible Down Standard (RDS) Certified Insulation in its Performance Heritage products. The RDS is a voluntary, international standard that helps incentivize practices that respect the humane treatment of ducks and geese and ensures that down and feathers do not come from supply chains where animals have been subjected to any unnecessary harm.
